Peel Children’s Centre offers many excellent treatment services for children, teenagers, and families who are having serious issues with relationships, feelings, or behaviour.
Peel Children’s Centre is also the Lead Agency for all Children and Youth Mental Health Programs in Peel. To begin accessing child and youth mental health programs, individuals and families should contact Centralized Intake at 905-451-4655
Peel Family Mediation Services offers family law mediation (on-site and off-site) and Mandatory Information programs (free) to the public in the Region of Peel and Dufferin County. They are committed to providing high quality mediation services; building a greater understanding of family law mediation through public education; training new family law mediators; and responding appropriately to the diverse needs of the communities of Peel and Dufferin County.
The John Howard Society of Ontario works toward effective, just and humane responses to crime and its causes. Through community offices across the province, we provide programs and services that help people affected by the justice system develop key life skills, navigate issues of criminal justice, and build productive futures after incarceration.
They provide professional counselling, educational programs, employment support services, support for people with developmental disabilities and their families, as well as support for victims of violence and abuse.
They are a community-based agency that works to strengthen families, couples and individuals through guidance, coaching, mentoring, education and support.

Community mental health programs provide a variety of services to help support people who have ongoing mental health issues living in the community. Services offered include information and referral, case management, housing supports, rehabilitation, employment assistance, counselling, support groups and social and recreational opportunities, and peer support services for consumers and survivors.
ADULT DEVELOPMENT SERVICES: DSO is the access point for adult developmental services funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) in Ontario.
If you are 18 years old you must apply through DSO to see if you are eligible to receive adult ministry-funded supports available in your community.
COMMUNITY MOBILIZING: Peel Regional Police is committed to a vision of 'A Safer Community Together'. One of our objectives is to address crime through call response, investigations, enforcement, and police visibility. With over 2,000 police officers and almost 900 civilian employees, their solvency rates are some of the highest in the country and crime rates are below provincial levels.
The Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring program matches a child 6 – 17 years of age (Little Sister/Little Brother) with a caring adult (Big Sister/Big Brother) over the age of 18. Through regular outings, a relationship is developed between the mentor and the mentee, which is built on trust and common interests, and is supported by our experienced case-workers. The result is a life-changing experience for both the mentor and the mentee.
BGC Peel is committed to building a sustainable organization that embraces diversity, actively pursues equity through policies and programming, and adopts an inclusive environment. Emergency hostel provides temporary emergency housing for homeless men in Brampton and Caledon. 16 of the 84 available beds are reserved for special needs individuals. Individuals can stay in one of the Region's emergency shelter for two weeks after which they must apply for Ontario Works assistance
CAWTHRA SHELTER: The Salvation Army Cawthra Road Shelter is a place of hope, partnering with homeless individuals and others in the building of healthy community as an expression of God's love.
Call 905 450 1996 - trained staff will find the best shelters in regionally managed shelters and those run by other organizations.
SUBSIDIZED HOUSING: Applications can be made by phone, mail, online at www.peelregion.ca/hsapply, or can be picked up at either of their offices located at 7120 Hurontario St, Mississauga or 10 Peel Centre Dr, Suite B, Brampton.
Call 211 for information and referral to community and social services, such as employment, training, health clinics, ESL classes, financial assistance programs or counselling services. 211 is free, confidential, multilingual and available 24-hours a day. You do not have to give your name or personal details to get information.

COSTI receives government funding for some of its programs and services.

Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) provides an incentive for parents, family and friends to save for a child's post-secondary education by paying a grant based on the amount contributed to an RESP for the child. The Canada education savings grant (CESG) money will be deposited directly into the child's RESP.
The OESP program helps lower-income households save on electricity by providing on-bill credit towards your Alectra, formerly Enersource, hydro bill. You must apply to the program to receive the credit. The amount will depend on how many people live in your house and the combined household income after tax.
